Evaluating the Efficacy of Capacitive Resistive Monopolar Radiofrequency Combined With Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation in Managing Chronic Low Back Pain: A Randomised Controlled Trial.

Sixty-two patients with chronic low back pain were randomized to receive either capacitive resistive monopolar radiofrequency combined with proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (CRMRF+PNF) (n=31) or proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation alone (PNF-only) (n=31). The primary outcome of interest was pain and functional disability, assessed using the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) and Oswestry Disability Index (ODI). Secondary outcomes included the Quebec Pain Disability Scale (QPDS) and Roland-Morris Disability Questionnaire (RMDQ). Outcomes were measured at baseline and immediately post-treatment (after 2 weeks). Overall, the results of the study revealed significantly greater reductions in pain and disability in the CRMRF+PNF group across all measures, exceeding the minimal clinically important differences. These findings suggest that the combined intervention may offer meaningful clinical benefits for managing chronic low back pain.
