Open wedge high tibial osteotomies: Calcium-phosphate ceramic spacer versus autologous bonegraft
Orthop Traumatol Surg Res. 2010 Oct;96(6):637-4540 patients undergoing valgus high tibial osteotomy (HTO) for medial compartment osteoarthritis (OA) were randomized to either calcium phosphate wedge graft or autolgous bone graft. After 2 years of follow-up, patients who received the calcium phosphate wedge had significantly more loss of correction, longer time to union, and a longer period of pain compared to the autograft group.
