Treatment of intra-articular fractures of the distal radius FLUOROSCOPIC OR ARTHROSCOPIC REDUCTION?
J Bone Joint Surg Br. 2008 Jun;90(6):778-85.40 patients with intra-articular fractures of the distal radius were randomized to be reduced using standard fluoroscopic guidance or using combined arthroscopic assistance and fluoroscopic guidance, followed by external fixation plus percutaneous pinning. After 24 months, the arthroscopic assisted treatment of intra-articular distal radius fractures led to superior functional outcomes, demonstrated by improved DASH and modified Mayo Wrist Scores at short term follow-up.
