Phenotypic differences between male physicians, surgeons, and film stars: comparative study
BMJ . 2006 Dec 23;333(7582):1291-3.A random sample of male senior staff surgeons (n=12) and medical physicians (n=12) were compared by an independent group of female doctors and nurses. An external control of film stars who played doctors in film were also include. The primary outcome of interest was a subjective "good looking score" that measured the degree of handsomeness on a seven point Likert scale. The heights of the surgeons and medical physicians were also compared.
