2012 AOSSM Annual Meeting: PRP Injections versus Viscosupplementation for Early Knee Osteoarthritis: a Randomized Double-Blind Study

OE Journal. 2013;1(5):4672 patients were randomized to compare the efficacy of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) or hyaluronic acid (HA) for the treatment of chondropathy or early knee osteoarthritis (OA). Results at the 6-month follow-up revealed that both groups displayed a significant improvement in regards to function and quality of life. However, there were no statistically significant differences between the two treatments, with only a slightly favourable trend for the PRP group.
