Analgesic comparison between perineural and intravenous dexamethasone for shoulder arthroscopy: a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
J Orthop Surg Res. 2022 Feb 17;17(1): 103.Five randomized controlled trials with a total of 585 patients undergoing shoulder arthroscopy were included in this meta-analysis comparing intravenous and perineural dexamethasone. Pooled outcomes of interest included block duration, pain scores, opioid consumption, and the incidence of nausea and vomiting. No significant differences were observed between the two administration routes in all outcomes.
