A prospective randomized study of arthroscopic ACL reconstruction with adjustable- versus fixed-loop device for femoral side fixation.
Knee Surg Relat Res. 2021 Dec 4;33(1): 42.Forty-seven patients with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears with or without meniscal injury were randomized to receive an arthroscopic ACL reconstruction with femoral side graft fixation using an adjustable-length loop device (n=24) or a fixed-length loop device (n=23). The outcomes of interest included knee function on the International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) and Lysholm scoring systems, knee stability via the Lachman and pivot shift tests, and quadriceps wasting measured by thigh circumference. Outcomes were assessed at 2 years post-operation. No significant differences in all outcomes were observed between the two groups.
