Two-Year Results of a Randomized Trial of Robotic Surgical Assistance Versus Manual Unicompartmental Knee Arthroplasty
139 patients scheduled for unicompartmental knee arthroplasty were randomized to the procedure with or without robotic assistance. Patients were assessed for patient-reported pain and function after 2 years. A subgroup analysis of 31 patients with high preoperative activity level (UCLA Activity Score >5) was also conducted. Overall, no significant differences between groups in outcome measures were observed. In the subgroup analysis, a significantly better outcome on functional scores was observed in the robotic assistance group compared to the manual group.
