Efficacy of bone marrow stimulation for arthroscopic knotless suture bridge rotator cuff repair: a prospective randomized controlled trial.

Sixty patients undergoing rotator cuff tear repair were randomized to either knotless suture bridge repair with bone marrow stimulation (n=30) or knotless suture bridge repair alone (n=30). The primary outcome of interest was healing of the repaired cuff insertion at 6 months, 1 year, and 2 years, postoperation. Secondary outcomes of interest included the Japanese Orthopaedic Association (JOA) score, the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) score, the Constant-Murley score, and the Simple Shoulder Test, all measured at 6 months, 1 year, and 2 years. No differences were seen in all outcomes at all time points when comparing the two groups.
