View MoreDirect anterior hip replacement is traced from Judet’s early work in France to its modern resurgence driven by improved instrumentation, tables, and training. The approach provides less pain, faster early recovery, and the lowest dislocation risk compared with posterior and lateral techniques. Speakers emphasized learning with mentorship, fluoroscopy or navigation, and careful case selection. Technique evolution includes safer stem choices, selective cementation, and improved incisions and wound care. Complex reconstructions—cup-cage revisions, dysplasia, osteotomies—can be reliably performed anteriorly with thoughtful exposure. They concluded that robotics, navigation, and AI-driven planning will increasingly shape future arthroplasty practice.
