OE Vision: The Rise of the Explorers .
Using machine learning, OE has identified clinician phenotypes—Explorers, Experts, and Enthusiasts—to understand real-world variation in knee osteoarthritis (OA) injection practices. Explorers, who are more engaged with research, were more likely to prefer hyaluronic acid (HA) and less likely to use corticosteroids (CS), citing cartilage damage concerns. While CS remains widely used, interest is growing in high-molecular weight HA and multimodal combinations (e.g., CS+HA). PRP use remains limited pending stronger evidence.
