Early observational evidence has consistently shown that the Pfizer/BioNTech mRNA vaccine delivers strong protection in community and healthcare settings, with encouraging signals even against the B.1.1.7 variant. Emerging data also suggest the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine reduces COVID-19–related hospitalizations. Together, these findings reinforce confidence that widespread vaccination can meaningfully curb the pandemic.
