By 2050, over 21% of the world will be aged 60+, with countries like Japan and Korea seeing the sharpest increases. Older adults already account for the majority of joint surgeries, but face higher risks and disparities. Emerging care models—like orthogeriatric teams, enhanced recovery pathways, and remote monitoring—aim to optimize outcomes. A shift toward holistic, equitable, and age-inclusive care is urgently needed.
