FDA Clears New Paediatric Femoral Nailing System for Trauma and Deformity Correction .

Paediatric fracture fixation gains a new implant option. OrthoPediatrics has received FDA 510(k) clearance for its Pediatric Nailing Platform Femur Retrograde Nail System and completed the first procedures using the technology. Designed specifically for growing patients, the system includes anatomically contoured nails for trauma and straight nails for deformity correction, with diameters ranging from 7 to 11 mm. The implants aim to address anatomical limitations of adult-oriented fixation systems. A limited release is underway, with broader commercialization planned for 2027.
