Patients who experience elbow dislocation may regain functional mobility over time, yet many continue to report persistent pain long after recovery. Recent findings indicate that although range of motion and daily function often improve with treatment and rehabilitation, a notable proportion of patients experience ongoing discomfort months or years after the initial injury. This persistent pain may be related to residual ligament injury, cartilage damage, or post-traumatic joint changes that are not fully resolved with standard management. The results highlight an important clinical gap between functional recovery and patient-reported outcomes, suggesting that long-term monitoring and targeted rehabilitation strategies may be necessary to better address chronic pain following elbow dislocation.
