Synopsis
33 patients (27 completed the 12month follow-up) with hip osteoarthritis were randomized to receive total hip arthroplasty (THA) with or without posterior soft tissue repair. At 6 months, the patients who received posterior soft tissue repair were found to have greater capsular distension in the prosthetic hip than those who did not receive it.
