Synopsis
110 patients scheduled for total shoulder arthroplasty were randomized to intravenous administration of either tranexamic acid or placebo saline. Patients were assessed for total blood loss, transfusion rate, hemoglobin loss, length of stay, and venous thromboembolic complications.
