The effects of intravenous zoledronic acid in Chinese women with postmenopausal osteoporosis

OE Journal. 2014;2(2):18 J Bone Miner Metab. 2011 May;29(3):328-33. doi: 10.1007/s00774-010-0223-y. Epub 2010 Oct 5323 Chinese women were randomized to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a once-yearly zoledronic acid treatment for postmenopausal osteoporosis. Patients received either annual infusions of zoledronic acid or placebo for 3 consecutive years and were assessed at the end of this period. Results revealed that zoledronic acid reduced the risk of vertebral fractures and increased the bone mineral density of Chinese women with postmenopausal osteoporosis.
