Randomized controlled trial of vertebroplasty versus kyphoplasty in the treatment of vertebral compression fractures
J Neurointerv Surg. 2016 Jul;8(7):756-630115 patients with vertebral compression fractures were randomized to undergo either kyphoplasty or vertebroplasty. The purpose of this study was to compare the efficacy of the two treatments in terms of pain and disability using the numeric rating scale and the Roland-Morris Disability Questionnaire. Outcomes were assessed up to 1 year postoperatively. Findings indicated no significant differences between treatment groups for all outcomes at any measured time point.
