16 children with Cerebral palsy were randomly allocated to 24 sessions of strength training (ST) or velocity training (VT) on leg extensors. The study aimed to investigate the effects of each regimen on quadriceps muscle architecture, power, walking speed, and functional walking performance. After 8 weeks of program completion, rectus femoris fascicle length significantly increased in VT, while it decreased with ST, and both types of training saw a significant increase in cross-sectional area of the rectus femoris. Velocity training, aside from increasing strength, had also improved muscle peak velocity, power, and walking speed and functional performance.
