Arthroscopic Repair of Articular Surface Partial-Thickness Rotator Cuff Tears: Transtendon Technique versus Repair after Completion of the Tear-A Meta-Analysis

Three randomized controlled trials (RCTs) with level II evidence were included in this meta-analysis of patients with articular surface partial-thickness rotator cuff tears. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of the transtendon repair technique compared to completion of the tear followed by subsequent repair. Constant scores were the only common outcome between all the included studies. Findings indicated no significant differences in Constant scores between transtendon repair and completion of the tear with a subsequent repair.
