Deep partial rotator cuff tear: transtendon repair or tear completion and repair? A randomized clinical trial
Knee Surg Sports Traumatol Arthrosc. 2015 Feb;23(2):460-3.Seventy four patients with articular side partial supraspinatus tears were randomized to receive either transtendon repair or tear completion followed by full repair. This was done to assess differences between two partial rotator cuff tear treatments. Visual analog scale and a Constant score were used to assess pain, function, range of motion, and strength of the shoulder. Results indicated that while patients in both groups experienced significant improvements in the outcome measure tests used, there were no significant differences between groups.
