Comparison of cementing techniques of the tibial component in total knee replacement

38 knees undergoing total knee replacement were randomized to either receive complete cementing of the tibial baseplate or horizontal cementing of the tibial baseplate. The results of 2 year follow up indicated that there were no significant differences in migration values between patients who received complete or horizontal cementing techniques. it should be noted, however, that the sample size of the study was too small and follow up period too short to consider these findings as completely accurate. Further research with larger sample sizes and a longer follow up period is needed to expand upon these findings.
