A prospective randomized comparison of two distinct allogenic tissue constructs for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction

102 patients scheduled for single-bundle anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction were randomized to receive either a two-stranded tibialis anterior allograft or four-stranded hamstring tendon allograft. Patients were assessed for graft failure/re-rupture, anterior knee laxity on the KT-1000 arthrometer, and clinical scores over a 2-year follow-up. No significant differences between groups were observed in the incidence of graft rupture or anterior knee laxity.
