The use of LSD in time-limited psychotherapy
J Nerv Ment Dis. 1973 23-Feb;():. 10.1097/00005053-197312000-00002Twenty-eight patients underwent a randomized, double-blind study to test whether LSD aids ongoing psychotherapy. The patient sample consisted of twenty-one psychosomatic inpatients and seven non-psychotic psychiatric inpatients. These patients were randomly assigned to two psychotherapy groups, where one group received LSD and the other group a placebo. After a 18-month follow up, the placebo group was more emotionally stable, conscientious and more socially precise than the LSD group.
