120 patients with malignant bone and soft tissue tumours of the lower limbs were randomized to receive whole-course nursing or routine nursing care following limb salvage surgery. The primary outcomes of interest included postoperative pain assessed using the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), lower limb function assessed using the Lower Extremity Functional Scale (LEFS), and emotional status assessed using the Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA). Additional outcomes included satisfaction with pain management, nursing satisfaction, quality of life, and postoperative complications. Outcomes were assessed at 24 and 48 hours postoperatively, at hospital discharge, and during postoperative follow-up. Overall, the results of the study revealed that whole-course nursing significantly reduced postoperative pain and anxiety while improving lower limb function, patient satisfaction, and quality of life compared with routine nursing. These findings suggested that comprehensive nursing interventions incorporating rehabilitation and psychological support could improve postoperative recovery following limb salvage surgery.
