The effect of low-intensity pulsed ultrasound on fracture healing .
This study has been identified as potentially high impact.
OE's AI-driven High Impact metric estimates the influence a paper is likely to have by integrating signals from both the journal in which it is published and the scientific content of the article itself.
Developed using state-of-the-art natural language processing, the OE High Impact model more accurately predicts a study's future citation performance than journal impact factor alone.
This enables earlier recognition of clinically meaningful research and helps readers focus on articles most likely to shape future practice.
OrthoEvidence Journal (OE Journal) - ACE Report
OE Journal. 2016;4(5):66 CMAJ. 2002 Feb 19;166(4):437-41Six randomized controlled trials were included in this systematic review and meta-analysis evaluating the use of low-intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS) in post-fracture management. Data from 3 studies on time to fracture healing was used to compare LIPUS- and placebo-treated groups through meta-analysis. The resulting effect size was statistically significant in favour of LIPUS compared to placebo. One additional study demonstrated no significant difference in time to healing between LIPUS- and placebo-treated groups following operative treatment of tibial fractures. Further high-quality evidence evaluating the use of LIPUS in fracture healing is required to better understand LIPUS’s potential effects in different patient populations.
