Tendon healing superior in double-row arthroscopic repair compared to single-row repair .
Ultrasound evaluation of arthroscopic full-thickness supraspinatus rotator cuff repair: single-row versus double-row suture bridge (transosseous equivalent) fixation. Results of a prospective, randomized study
J Shoulder Elbow Surg. 2013 Nov;22(11):1480-790 patients with full-thickness supraspinatus tears were randomized to compare tendon healing rates associated with double- and single-row arthroscopic supraspinatus tendon repair, as determined by ultrasound diagnostics. Patients were evaluated over 17 months and the evidence presented in this study revealed significantly superior tendon healing rates in the double-row group compared to the single-row group. Further evidence of high methodological quality is needed to validate these findings.
