Seventy-eight patients with non-specific low back pain were randomized to receive either an exercise program via telerehabilitation (TLRH; n=39) or a clinic-based exercise program (CG; n=39). Outcomes of interest included low back pain intensity measured on a Visual Analog Scale (VAS), Oswestry Disability Index (ODI), Pain Catastrophizing Scale (PCS), and hip strength during flexion and extension in supine and sitting positions. There was a significantly significant improvement in the TLRH group for catastrophizing pain after 3 months. Pain intensity and disability were similar between the two groups at 3 months. The clinic-based group showed significantly better improvements in the left hip flexion strength in both supine and sitting positions. Additionally, right hip extension and left hip extension with the knee extended were also significantly better in the CG group. Pain (supine left hip flexion) also significantly improved after 8 weeks in the CG group.
