Arthroplast Today. 2026 07-Sep;():. 10.1016/j.artd.2026.102061Study Summary
14 randomized controlled trials including 1244 knees undergoing primary total knee arthroplasty (TKA) were included in this systematic review and meta-analysis evaluating the Forgotten Joint Score (FJS) compared with conventional patient-reported outcome measures. FJS demonstrated greater sensitivity in detecting differences in postoperative outcomes and showed fewer ceiling effects than conventional measures. However, no significant differences in FJS were identified between alignment strategies or bearing designs. Overall, the FJS appeared to provide a more sensitive assessment of postoperative joint awareness and may improve the evaluation of TKA outcomes.
