OE Journal. 2013;1(11):306 Arthroscopy. 2007 Jun;23(6):618-2868 patients with unilateral anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury requiring ACL reconstruction were randomized to receive one of two surgical treatments. One group underwent a single-bundle (SB) ACL reconstruction using 4-strand semitendinosus tendon (ST) and the second group underwent a double-bundle (DB) ACL reconstruction. Both also underwent EndoButton femoral fixation. Results indicated that the DB ACL reconstruction with 4-strand ST produced better outcomes in anterior and rotational stability compared to the SB procedure, but patients did not report any subjective differences between the two procedures.
