Steroid injection and needle aponeurotomy for Dupuytren contracture: a randomized, controlled study

47 patients with Dupuytren disease were randomized to examine the effectiveness of triamcinolone acetonide (TA) in treating post-procedural recurrences of the condition. Following a percutaneous needle aponeurotomy (PNA) procedure, patients received either TA or no injections (control group). Upon assessment at 6 months, patients who received TA in combination with percutaneous needle aponeurotomy experienced a significantly greater degree of correction of flexion deformity at 6 months than those who had percutaneous needle aponeurotomy alone.
