Which implant is better for treating reverse obliquity fractures of the proximal femur: a standard or long nail?
Clin Orthop Relat Res. 2013 Sep;471(9):2768-7540 patients with reverse oblique fractures of the femur participated in this study to determine if long or standard length nails provided superior outcomes. Patients underwent an intramedullary nail surgery with either a standard length nail of 24cm or a long nail that ranged from 34 to 42 cm. The results of this one year study suggested the two procedures were comparable in all functional and clinical outcomes.
