Single-bundle versus double-bundle anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction: a comparative 2-year follow-up
Arthroscopy. 2016 Jan;32(1):34-4264 patients scheduled for anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction were randomized to anatomic single-bundle (SB) or anatomic double-bundle (DB) reconstruction. The purpose of this study was to evaluate and compare clinical outcome measures and knee laxity between groups. Follow-up was conducted for a minimum of 2 years. Results demonstrated no significant differences between groups in clinical outcomes. There were also no significant differences between groups in anterior knee laxity of internal rotational laxity, though there was significantly lower external rotational laxity in the DB group compared to the SB group.
