Single-bundle modified patellar tendon versus double-bundle tibialis anterior allograft ACL reconstruction: a prospective randomized study
Knee Surg Sports Traumatol Arthrosc. 2015 Aug;23(8):2244-9.94 patients undergoing anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction surgery were randomized to receive either a single bundle (SB) reconstruction using a modified bone-patellar tendon-bone (BPTB) allograft, or a double bundle (DB) reconstruction using a tibialis anterior allograft. The purpose of the study was to determine if the two methods of treatment produce similar results on functional outcome. Results showed no significant difference between groups for any examination of knee laxity or stability, or subjective functional outcome measure.
