78 patients scheduled for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction were randomized to postoperative analgesia with either an adductor canal block (ACB) or a femoral nerve block (FNB). The purpose of this study was to examine and compare analgesia outcomes and functional recovery outcomes between the two groups over the first 5 days postoperatively. Results demonstrated the only significant difference between groups was morphine consumption in the first 4 hours, which was lower in the ACB group. Otherwise, pain scores, ability to perform the straight leg raise test, and patient satisfaction did not significantly differ between groups, while no complications were recorded in either group.
