Epsilon-aminocaproic acid versus tranexamic acid in total knee arthroplasty: a meta-analysis study

OE Journal. 2019;7(15):4 J Orthop Traumatol. 2019 Jul 18;20(1):28.3 studies (1691 patients) were included in this meta-analysis comparing EACA and TXA for the reduction of blood loss and transfusion requirement in total knee arthroplasty. The primary outcome of interest was blood loss and the amount of transfusion required. Secondary outcomes of interest included operative time, tourniquet time and complications. No significant differences were observed in all outcomes between the EACA and TXA groups.
