Effectiveness of video-based rehabilitation program on pain, functionality,; quality of life in the treatment of rotator cuff tears: A randomized controlled trial.

Thirty-three patients with partial rotator cuff tears were randomized to receive a 6 week exercise program delivered by video or in-clinic. The outcomes of interest included range of motion, pain at rest, during activity and at night (measured using a Visual Analog Scale), the Disability of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand (DASH) score, the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) score, Short-Form 12 Mental and Physical Component Scores, and the Global Rating of Change Scale. Outcomes were assessed after the completion of the 6 week program. Results revealed no significant differences in all outcomes between the video-based and the in clinic physiotherapist-led rehabilitation groups.
