Efficacy of high-dissolution turmeric-sesame formulation for pain relief in adult subjects with acute musculoskeletal pain compared to acetaminophen: A randomized controlled study.
Medicine (Baltimore). 2020 Jul 10; 99(28): e20373.Eighty-eight patients with acute musculoskeletal pain were randomized to receive a 7 day treatment of Rhuleave-K, a formulation in tablet form containing sesame extract oil, tumeric root extract, and B. Serrata gum resin extract or an acetaminophen control, for the relief of pain. The outcomes of interest included pain on a Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), time to perceptible and meaningful pain relief, Sum of Pain Intensity Difference (SPID-6), total pain relief (TOTPAR), the McGill Pain Questionnaire (MPQ), and Patient Global Impression Change (PGIC). Pain relief was observed in both groups across all pain outcomes; however, the results also revealed no significant differences between the two groups in all outcomes.
