Comparison Between Single- and Double-Bundle Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction With 6- to 8-Stranded Hamstring Autograft: A Prospective, Randomized Clinical Trial
Am J Sports Med. 2016 Sep;44(9):2314-2280 patients with a unilateral tear of the ACL ligament were included in this study and randomized to either single- or double-bundle anatomic ACL reconstruction with a 6- to 8-stranded hamstring autograft. The objective of this study was to determine if there were significant differences in patient-reported outcomes and knee laxity over a minimum of 7-year follow-up. There were no differences in IKDC, Tegner, and Lysholm scores at 7-year follow-up. Additionally, there were no differences in measures of knee laxity or the time to & level of return to sport.
