SICOT2018: High volume injection added to PT offers early function benefit for adhesive caspsulitis .
A PROSPECTIVE RANDOMISED STUDY COMPARING ULTRASOUND GUIDED TARGETED HIGH VOLUME INJECTION OF THE ROTATOR CUFF INTERVAL AND SUPERVISED PHYSICAL THERAPY FOR PRIMARY ADHESIVE CAPSULITIS OF SHOULDER AT A TERTIARY CARE CENTRE
40 patients with adhesive capsulitis were randomized with a standardized physical therapy program with or without the addition of high volume injection intervention. The purpose of this study was to evaluate any significant effect, if any, of high volume injection on functional outcome within the first 6 months of follow-up. Results demonstrated significantly greater range of shoulder external rotation and UCLA activity level scores at 3 months in the high volume injection group, but differences were no longer significant between groups by 6 months.
