SICOT 2025: Impact Of Centrifugation Parameters On PRP Injection For Patella Tendinopathy
Impact Of Centrifugation Parameters On Platelet-Rich Plasma Injection For Patella Tendinopathy: A Systematic Review And Meta-Analysis
Seventeen studies with 360 patients with patellar tendinopathy were included in this systematic review and meta-analysis comparing PRP centrifugation speeds and durations. Pooled outcomes of interest included VAS pain scores and VISA-P functional scores. PRP improved both VAS (mean reduction 3.85, p < 0.01) and VISA-P (mean increase 32.03, p < 0.01). However, no significant differences were observed between different centrifugation speeds or durations. These findings suggest that while PRP improves symptoms in patellar tendinopathy, variations in centrifugation parameters may not influence patient outcomes.
