2023 SICOT Annual Meeting: Effectiveness of Pain Control Regimen with Local Infiltrative Analgesia for Total Knee Replacement: A Prospective, Double-Blind, Randomized Controlled Trial

OE Journal. 2023;11(22):650 patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty were randomized to receive either multimodal analgesia (n=25) or a placebo control (n=25). Outcomes of interest included pain on a Visual Analog Scale (VAS) and length of stay (LOS). The results of this trial showed that VAS scores decreased with a shorter length of stay postoperatively in the multimodal analgesia group compared to preoperative scores.
