Minimally Invasive Surgery vs Conventional Exposure Using the Miller-Galante Unicompartmental Knee Arthroplasty

41 patients were randomized to undergo a unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UCA) with a cemented Miller-Galante prosthesis inserted either through minimally invasive surgery or with standard exposure (conventional arthrotomy). The primary outcomes were clinical and radiographic results. Results indicated positive outcomes in shorter hospital stays and faster rehabilitation with the MIS technique. However, the positive results of this study were likely due to experienced surgeons performing the UCA.
