The Short-Term Effect of Dynamic Tape versus the Low-Dye Taping Technique in Plantar Fasciitis: A Randomized Clinical Trial

Sixty patients with bilateral plantar fasciitis were randomized to receive Dynamic Taping (n=30) or low-dye taping (n=30). The outcomes of interest included pain intensity on a Visual Analog Scale (VAS), ankle dorsiflexion with the knee extended and flexed, and the foot posture index (FPI), assessed after 1 week of taping. The results of this study found significantly greater pain improvement with Dynamic taping. However, FPI scores were significantly in favour of the low-dye taping group. No differences in range of motion were observed between groups.
