OE Journal. 2016;4(14):24 Arch Phys Med Rehabil. 2015 Jun;96(6):1014-1020.e1.232 older adults with hip fractures were randomized to receive a 6-month protocol of Home-based Post-Hip Fracture Rehabilitation or to be a part of a control group. The purpose of this study was to determine to what extent outcomes were influenced by self-efficacy. The study found that the effects of self-efficacy were significant at 9-month follow-up but not at 6 months suggesting that self-efficacy plays a mediating role in outcomes in the long-term.
