A Prospective, Randomized, Clinical and Radiographic Study After Arthroscopic Bankart Reconstruction Using 2 Different Types of Absorbable Tacks

OE Journal. 2013;1(12):189 Arthroscopy. 2006 Feb;22(2):143-5140 patients with recurrent, unidirectional, post-traumatic shoulder instability were randomised to undergo arthroscopic Bankart reconstruction using either the polygluconate co-polymer tack implants (PGACP) or the self-reinforced poly-L-lactic acid polymer tack implants (PLLA). The primary outcome was clinical and radiographic results. Results indicated that both implants produced satisfactory clinical outcomes at the 2-year follow-up. However, radiographic assessment indicated the PLLA group had greater drill hole visibility compared to the PGACP group.
