Routine vs. On-Demand Removal of Syndesmotic Screws in Ankle Fractures .
This study has been identified as potentially high impact.
OE's AI-driven High Impact metric estimates the influence a paper is likely to have by integrating signals from both the journal in which it is published and the scientific content of the article itself.
Developed using state-of-the-art natural language processing, the OE High Impact model more accurately predicts a study's future citation performance than journal impact factor alone.
This enables earlier recognition of clinically meaningful research and helps readers focus on articles most likely to shape future practice.
Functional outcome of routine versus on-demand removal of the syndesmotic screw: a multicentre randomized controlled trial.
Bone Joint J . 2021 Nov;103-B(11):1709-1716.One hundred and ninety seven patients who underwent operative fixation of an ankle syndesmotic injury were randomized to receive routine removal (n=93) or on-demand removal (104) of their syndesmotic screw after surgery. The primary outcome was function as measured by the Olerud-Molander Ankle Score (OMAS). Secondary outcomes of interest included pain, range of motion and complications.
