Single-row versus double-row arthroscopic repair in the treatment of rotator cuff tears: A prospective randomized clinical study
Int Orthop. 2012 Sep;36(9):1877-83. Epub 2012 May 16.160 patients with full-thickness rotator cuff tears were randomized to undergo single-row or double-row arthroscopic repair. At the end of the 2 year study, patients who received double-row repair displayed significant improvements in a number of clinical outcomes (UCLA and ASES in patient with tears greater than 30mm). Analysis of patients with rotator cuff tears over 30 mm displayed greater improvements following double row repair compared to single row repair. No significant differences on MRI scans were seen between the single-row and double-row repair patients.
