Randomized clinical trial of rotating-platform and fixed-bearing total knee arthroplasty: no clinically detectable differences at five years
J Bone Joint Surg Am. 2012 Mar 21;94(6):481-9.240 patients (mean age 67) undergoing primary unilateral total knee arthroplasty were randomized to three groups to compare clinical outcomes between rotating platform and fixed bearing tibial implants. Results at 2 and 5 year follow-ups indicated that there were no differences in mean range of motion, function, pain or radiological outcomes between the rotating platform and two mobile bearing implants.
